For some reason Mozilla has so far not able to cope with memory leaks in their flagship browser. Though already from the first memory leaks reported by many Firefox users from around the world.
Due to memory leaks, Firefox became very greedy memory. In many cases even the browser can take up to 2GB of Ram resource! Reportedly memory leaks is caused by an add-on that can take memory resource allocation but could not free the memory when it is not used anymore.
The Mozilla itself through Nicholas Nethercote said that the problem of memory leaks due to the add-on will be resolved in Mozilla Firefox 15.
We all certainly hope this problem can be resolved soon with the release of Firefox 15 later. But while waiting, you can use Firemin which I've discussed previously on the website kedokan-center. The application is able to overcome the problem of memory leaks in Firefox and proven to menggurangi Firefox memory usage up to 95% more!
