Unity 2D in Ubuntu Will Start Off 12:10.

Unity 2D is the 2D version of the Unity desktop user interface that was introduced when the release of Ubuntu 11.10. Unity 2D is included in Ubuntu to improve the performance of Ubuntu for computer users who do not have hardware acceleration 3D/OpenGL.+



Starting 12:10 Ubuntu version is scheduled to be released on 18 October, Unity 2D will no longer be included in the operating system Ubuntu. 12:10 Ubuntu Unity and above will only support 3D only.

If your computer does not have graphic acceleration, ubuntu will automatically use 3D LLVMipe Mesa 3D drivers to calculate through the main processor.
