Starting 12:10 Ubuntu version is scheduled to be released on 18 October, Unity 2D will no longer be included in the operating system Ubuntu. 12:10 Ubuntu Unity and above will only support 3D only.
And what with Ubuntu users whose computers do not support graphics acceleration?
If your computer does not have graphic acceleration, ubuntu will automatically use 3D LLVMipe Mesa 3D drivers to calculate through the main processor.
